Privacy Policy

Last updated August 5, 2026

Stoku is an offline app, and this policy is short because there is very little to describe. We do not run a server, we do not have accounts, and we never see what you track.

The short version: Stoku collects nothing. Every item, date and shopping-list entry is stored in a database on your own device. There is no sign-in, no cloud sync, no analytics and no advertising.

01What we collect

Nothing. Stoku has no user accounts, no telemetry and no server to send data to. We do not collect your name, email, device identifiers, location, contacts, or anything you type into the app.

That is not a promise about how carefully we handle your data — it is a statement about the app’s architecture. There is no code in Stoku that transmits your content anywhere.

02What stays on your device

Everything the app knows lives in a local database on your phone:

  • Your items: names, emoji, categories, buy intervals, last-bought dates, and any optional price, amount, brand, store or notes you add.
  • Your shopping list: entries you added manually or from a tracked item, and which of them are ticked off.
  • Your settings: whether the daily reminder is on, the time you chose, and your language.

Uninstalling Stoku deletes all of it. Settings → Reset does the same without uninstalling. Neither sends anything to us, because there is nowhere for it to go.

03Backups you create

Settings → Export writes your data to a plain JSON file and hands it to your device’s share sheet. You choose where it goes — a file manager, a cloud drive, a message to yourself. Once it leaves the share sheet it is governed by whatever service you sent it to, not by us. We never receive a copy.

Restoring works the same way in reverse: you pick a file you already have, and Stoku reads it locally.

04Notifications

The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled by your own device. No push service is involved and no message passes through us. Turn it off in Settings, or revoke the notification permission in your system settings.

05Children

Stoku is a general-purpose household tool. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, so there is nothing for us to knowingly collect from a child.

06The app stores

Apple and Google handle the download itself, and each has its own privacy policy covering the purchase, download and crash-reporting data they gather at the platform level. That relationship is between you and them; we receive only the anonymous, aggregated sales figures the stores show every developer.

07Changes to this policy

If a future version of Stoku ever adds a feature that touches the network — optional sync, for example — this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described here rather than buried. The date at the top always reflects the current text.
